Textile residency programme in Chianti in Tuscany
Studio Aphorisma has launched a residency program for training, research and creation in the field of textile art. The program is based on the idea of supporting encounters and exchanges between artisans, designers, textile artists or simply enthusiasts of this field, all those people who feel, in some way, connected by their shared interest in the world of textiles.
Place of residence
Our atelier is located in one of the most beautiful settings in the Tuscan countryside, in the heart of the Chianti area. In this environment rich in natural and cultural stimuli, residents will find the ideal conditions for inspiration and creative work.
Request for residency
Anyone who intends to learn and deepen their knowledge in this field can apply for residency. Our offer is intended to be an opportunity for those who want to develop their own project, but also to do free research and experiment while working surronunded by nature, in a quiet and well-equipped space, having the opportunity to interact with qualified experts in the sector.
Atelier space
In our atelier there are various types of manual looms, from 4 to 24 heddles, an electronic loom and more, all these tools including the materials will be available to residents.
The atelier also has an adjacent outdoor space where you can concentrate, draw and develop your work, there is also a large garden where you can wander while being immersed in nature.
The exhibition space, separated from the studio, is designed to optimally display, photograph, and communicate one’s work once completed.
Accommodation
The accommodation is connected to the atelier and is located at the topof the building, from its windows you can enjoy a very wide view of the surrounding landscape. The accommodation consists of a large shared kitchen-living room, two separate bedrooms with independent entrance and a bathroom.
Studio Aphorisma Consulting
A professional from the field will be available, if requested, to advise and guide residents until the successful completion of their work.
Library
In the atelier there is a large library with catalogs, magazines and books that can be consulted on the subject.
